Managing your knowledgebase content in AI SmartBase becomes simple with the built-in Import and Export features. These tools allow you to move content between sites or create backups of your posts, categories, and custom fields.

Exporting

To export all AI SmartBase (aikb) posts:

1. Click the Export button in your AI SmartBase dashboard.
2. You will be redirected to WordPress’s default export page (Tools > Export).
3. Under “Choose what to export”, select AI SmartBase Articles.
4. Click Download Export File to save your content.

What gets exported:

• All posts of the AI SmartBase custom post type
• All post meta (custom fields)
• All associated taxonomy terms (aikb_category)

Important Note: Term meta (custom fields for categories) will not be exported using WordPress’s default export.

Importing

You can also import content easily by uploading an XML file:

• This importer supports all WordPress default and custom post types.
• Specially designed to handle meta fields used by AI SmartBase.
• If you are migrating content from the Manual – Documentation, Knowledge Base & Education WordPress Theme, this tool ensures all posts, meta fields, and taxonomy relationships are imported correctly.

Important Reminder: After importing content from another site or theme, don’t forget to reassign access controls via the Pro Article Manager in AI SmartBase to maintain your category and article permissions.
