If you want to hide the page title bar and search box on the documentation page, you can navigate to “Manual Options” and select “Page Title Bar.” From there, you can choose “DOC – Category/Single Page” and adjust the settings to hide or control the documentation header according to your requirements.

It is required to understand a few core stuff… about what will happen if someone tries to import a new demo on an already existing demo.

1. Manual theme design depends on “Manual Options” until and unless there is no direct customization done manually on the Manual theme core file. So when you import the new demo on an already existing demo the first section that gets overwritten will be “Manual Options”. (so before you re-import anything it is necessary to take the backup of “Manual Options” so that if anything happens you can immediately re-store the manual theme design.)

2. For the images no data will be lost instead new images and files will be added (if new import files has any).

3. For the post_type “pages/post/knowledgebase/documentation/faq” nothing will be changed all will remain the same i.e, no file overwrite will take place, BUT surely the new demo files will be added like the demo “home page”, faq articles, knowledgebase articles…

4. For “Appearance > Wiget” if any new widget is used then it will get added to the list.

5. Finally “Appearance > Menu” the new menu gets added to the list. So it is strongly required to delete the added files.

NOTE
============
To max possible from the upcoming new version. The manual theme will have a new feature inside “Manual Theme > Import” from where the user can import ONLY the page design OR ONLY the theme new design of the selected demo. Also, there will be a page designs template available for import on the page builder plugin “Elementor and WpBakery”.

The “Targeted Documentation Category Search” feature will only display results based on the selected documentation category. If no any category is selected then the system will search all (all categories/sub-categories) documentation articles for the result.

NOTE: Also, please make sure to select only the required “Post Types” (Manual Options > Search > Advance Search) to make your search limited. Selecting all the “Post Types” will display too many results from different sections like; knowledge, documentation, post, pages, etc…

When you import a new demo below listed site settings will be affected.

1. “Appearance > Menu”.
2. “Appearance > Widget”
3. “Manual Options” settings will be overwritten.
4. Sometimes there are also possibilities of having duplicate posts if the same demo got imported multiple times.

Please go to “Manual Options > Knowledgebase > Single page” where you will see “Impression and Like Count” under the “Design Settings” section just disable the feature to remove total views and votes.

It’s just design integration like WooCommerce/bbPress, nothing more than that. The integration will not make any changes to the already designed structure of the manual theme.

Manual has its own built-in feature for the “Knowledgebase”, “Documentation” and “FAQ”. We are just providing design support for the different free plugins so that users can have more flexibility when it comes to creating a “support desk”.

Hi Sylvia,

Manual has an option to search content within the documentation you just have to activate “post_type == documentation” to target your search for the documentation area.

If you are planning to add a search bar, then it can be placed inside the main menu, on the sidebar, on the ‘page title bar’, or, on the home page.
